- Granary storage
- Kitchen with panihara (drinking water)
- Detached toilet and bathroom block

Academic Requirements: STUDIO 4: Environmental and cultural Study
Society, Culture, Place and its specific impact on usage of space, Environment and its influence on built form, Earthquake issues

Abstract
Main epicenter for the earthquake happened in Gujarat, 2001 is in the Kutch district. Center for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) is doing many voluntary rehabilitation projects in this region. This is a housing rehabilitation project for Kalyanpur village. A brief proposal is given for the designing of one street. The idea is to work as a team to visualize the project scheme.

There are a few critical programmatic concerns to be accommodated in the design. For example, new design should follow all the traditional and spatial notion of a house form of this region. Rapid construction methods should be adopted in the design. Its vocabulary has to be simple enough to be understood by laymen and local contractors.

This design is conceptualized from two different approaches. First, approach tries to investigate the reasons which have causes the damage in the existing built form. Second approach, develops on the basis on geometrical exploration of Tetrahedron. Interesting patterns emerging from these studies are then superimposed to derive the analogical solutions and justification for the built form. Very important solutions have emerged from the studies of cracking patterns of the structure and its tendencies to achieve most stable state.

Most of the materials used in the building are recycled from the debris of damaged buildings. All the structural frames have pivoted hinge joint which allows flexibility and also acts as sacrificial structures member in the worse case scenario.
