Abstract
Indo-Islamic refers to a particular style of architecture in which building elements have combined characteristics of Indian and Islamic style. Bhopal has a strong historic significance of Indo-Islamic inquiry in context of architecture. Jami-mosque of Bhopal is a key reference of such style.

This project is a research institute for the scholars who are dealing with various subjects related to Indo-Islamic style. The site is selected in the immediate context of many buildings influenced by Indo-Islamic style in their architecture.

The designed building is an insert in a dense urban fabric oriented towards 'Bada Talab'- a lake. Its design borrows many reference from Islamic architecture in the sense over all built and mass relationship established on site. Entire building is divided into three blocks with separate public and private movement. Each block has interlocking volumes and service core which is derived from the principle of self similar geometrical modules and functional requirements. Key features of the project are the non programmatic spaces which serves ancillary public plazas to the main building.
