Abstract
This is an extension project of an individual house located within a Middle Income Group (MIG) mass housing scheme in Baroda. An individual house type (6mts X 6mts) has a single bedroom, kitchen and common room facilities. Client wants to do vertical expansion to their existing ground floor by providing two additional bed rooms.

This house becomes a cube after addition of the first floor. Primary concept of 'breaking of a cube' has evolved after considering the basic proportions. Overall form and aesthetics gives a notion of en exploded cube. Services are housed on top of the existing services to serves the functional aspects of the design. A stair case block protrude out in the backyard of the house.
