Old city of Ahmedabad has many heritage buildings. The city heritage department organizes many public awareness programs in this area. In fact, there is a weekly heritage walk which tries to showcase many historical buildings as heritage significances. Primarily, this building acts as a heritage center from where they can conduct their various activities.

This project is located in highly dense neighborhood with heritage Jain temple complex in the old city area. It's a linear plot with shared walls on either side. One of the shared sides is a Jain temple. A new proposed route for heritage walk is going to start from this building. It also provides exhibition space along with orientation and reception counter. There are seminar and classrooms to conduct academic programs.

Major programmatic functions are arranged on the periphery of the linear site. They are centrally connected with the services core. Building has front public platform (Otla) which is inferred from the traditional architectural style of Ahmedabad. It serves a major socio-culturally interactive space justifiable for this project.
